So I have arrived at PNWA’s Annual conference again. Being a bear of very small brain, I have forgotten whether this is my third or fourth time. But I always enjoy myself there, stimulated by writers at every stage of development.
I also enjoy teaching. This year I am doing the session: ‘Historicals are making a comeback’: basically my analysis of the current state of Historical Fiction combined with a bit of a workshop on pitfalls and ambitions. Business and craft, in other words. When I was drafting my notes yesterday I marvelled again at just how opinionated I am on the subject.
I am also doing a session with author Royce Buckingham on ‘The Day After’ – what happens next, after someone accepts your book for publication. He has prepared a great presentation, very organized. I get to play the role of grizzled veteran, to be ‘cut to’ occasionally for color commentary. I am thinking stubble, shades, hangover, and a flask of Jack.
I will blog/tweet later and recount how it goes.
