Shakespeare’s Head

He’s been on my mind a bit lately what with the new novel, Shakespeare’s Rebel, appearing on a very few booksellers shelves in England.

IMG_0541How did I dare to put words in William’s mouth? Easy – he’s been putting words in mine for years!

The photo was taken at the wonderful Sylvia Beach Hotel, Newport, Oregon, last year when I was there teaching the Oregon Writers Colony on their retreat. Each room in the hotel has an author theme. I was originally given the Dr Seuss room complete with Cat in the Hat legs sticking out the end of the bed. I objected and was transferred to the Shakespeare room, complete with props, books, artifacts. As I was finishing SR at the time it was yet another example of Humphreys Happenstance.
